Internet Systems Operations Specialist

OVERVIEW:

For this position, with a world-renowned entertainment company, you will be joining a team focused on planning and executing the integration of Internet-based products and services into complex production environments in an efficient, secure, scalable, reliable and cost-effective manner.

 

Your responsibilities will include:
Performing day-to-day maintenance and administration of Internet-based enterprise systems
Developing tools and scripts to facilitate that maintenance and administration
Identifying root causes of operational issues and resolving them
Assisting with the documentation of the enterprise infrastructure and monitoring systems
Planning and executing on small scale projects, such as new business unit initiatives and updates to existing products and services

 

REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years experience designing, deploying, and supporting Internet-based products / services
Experience working in a high-capacity, mission-critical web serving environment
Windows and UNIX/LINUX server experience, including expertise in system installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, capacity planning, monitoring, and security procedures
Web (IIS, Apache) and application (Tomcat, Jboss, etc) server expertise, including installation, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, capacity planning, monitoring, and security procedures
Proficiency with at least two scripting / programming languages (Perl, Ant, Shell, etc.)
Database administration experience (setup, configuration and basic troubleshooting)
Understanding of internet standards such as HTTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, HTML, XML, JDBC, SNMP and other protocols
Experience with hardware systems design and implementation, cluster management, implementing redundancy and testing failover, etc.
Storage (SAN, NAS, etc)
Familiarity with content management systems and publishing systems
Security experience a plus
