Java Architect

The Senior Application Architect will join a burgeoning team, whose mission is primarily centered on the conception, design and development of enterprise components. The Individual also provides technical assistance, quality assurance and guidance to internal development teams. The role reports to the Manager of the Enterprise Shared Components/Services or Architectural Services. Candidates must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and experience with object-oriented analysis and design.

" Capture and model requirements for enterprise services using UML
" Design and implement the sharable components using object-oriented techniques
" Provide design and technical expertise to internal development teams

Competencies for Success

" Excellent object-oriented analysis and design skills with UML
" Expert knowledge of architecture principles, standards, technical trends, and industry best practices
" Hands-on senior level experience applying GoF and J2EE design patterns
" Must have expert knowledge of Java, J2EE and the BEA WebLogic platform
" Possess the ability to write correct, efficient, and maintainable code
" Experience with designing and building message based and SOA architectures
" Experience with .NET and C# is a plus
" Knowledge of Open source Java Frameworks is a plus (e.g. Hibernate, Spring)
" Experience in planning and executing software projects following Agile methodologies
" Teach and mentor less-experienced programmers
" Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills
" Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to Executive Management

Experience
" BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
" Minimum of 4 years applications architecture experience
