Java J2EE Developer- Permanent positions only

Advantage has been in business for 27 years, and currently supports over 1700 locations. The Java project under development is a fourth generation business solution. Advantage is located north of Big Sandy, Texas on a 300 hundred acre ranch. This unique location allows us to push the envelope in technologies, while living away from the busy'ness of a larger city. Big Sandy is a rural community north of Tyler and west of Longview. As we are looking for permanent employees, our location is a part of the commitment. We currently employ approximately 120 employees, 24 of which are in the development department. Our low turn-over ratio is due in part to our lifestyle advantage and the ownership and commitment our team has toward it's projects. Finding experienced team members that will compliment the talents and personalities here for the long term, is the goal.

* Permanent full-time plus (45-50 hours) positions.

PARTIAL LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES AN APPLICATION DEVELOPER
Develop and maintain enterprise applications utilizing J2EE client/server technologies.
Employ object-oriented analysis and design techniques, database schema design to meet the requirements of full enterprise package.
Develops and analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Develops software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Mentor staff on development standards and techniques.
Be responsive and customer service oriented to all stakeholders via phone, email, etc.
Maintain open and courteous communication.
Complete tasks on a timely basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
3-7+ years full time on-the-job application development.
Java/OO development experience in a professional environment
Experience in mentoring and upholding development standards and best practices.
Experience with relational database/SQL plus.
Experience with event driven, back-end systems a plus
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
Experience with the product life cycle and development methodologies
Experience with Java application servers, a plus.
Experience in developing and maintaining Java frameworks, a plus.
Experience in object-oriented design and programming techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
