Java/J2EE Engineer with financial industry experience needed in Boston.

A medium-sized financial organization, focusing on delivering services to fortune 200 companies, is looking for a Senior-level Java/J2EE Engineer. Our organization develops several proprietary software applications that enable our clients to more effectively and efficiently run their businesses. This position is located in downtown Boston, and is full-time permanent.



The ideal candidate will have strong Java/J2EE experience, working with multiple applications in the financial sector. Because many of our applications are home-grown, we need an individual who can be trained and come up to speed quickly. We run applications on both Windows and Unix (Solaris and Linux) platforms, so experience working on multiple platforms is also needed. The specific Java/J2EE tools we use, as well as the databases we run vary depending on the project, so we need an individual with a wide range of technical experience. Any C++ experience is a plus, but not a requirement.



Overall, your responsibilities will range from the design/architecture of new applications, to the senior-level coding of new applications, as well as the maintenance of existing applications. This work will include 3-tiered development.
