Java Software Developer

This person will design, develop and implement NewsStand?s Java-based applications and server-based subsystems.

 

Duties:

 

- Develop and maintain Java software applications from functional design through product installation

- Work closely with the Chief Architect on logical database design

- Work with marketing and other developers to design functionality

- Write application documentation as needed

 

Requirements:

 

- 3+ years developing applications and code modules using Java

- Expert knowledge of complex data structures, OO Design, threads and sorting algorithms

- Expert knowledge of Java Servlets, Tomcat, Apache, HTML, XML, SQL, JDBC and Oracle

- Working knowledge of current encryption/compression techniques

- User-level knowledge of Unix (Linux) and MS Windows

- Ability to track functional differences in JVM?s and produce code that works for all versions
