Junior Database Administrator (MS Sql)

Note that this position will include evening and weekend hours.

 

Schedule is: Tuesday through Saturday from 2 p.m to 11 p.m. - days off are Sunday and Monday. There will be some flexibility in the schedule except for Saturdays.

Position Description:

 

Requires an energetic and resourceful Junior DBA that is ready for significant responsibility and to be challenged with new technologies on a regular basis. Candidates must have 3 or more years of relevant experience in MS Sql database systems administration and management, including integration methods to external systems (JDBC/ODBC) and related technologies. 

 

Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as client-facing correspondence, system documentation, and detailed event logging will be a static element of this position.



 

Database Platforms: Sql Server 2000, and including Clustering (Replication and Log Shipping) - Sql Server 2005 and Oracle 9i a plus.


Windows 2003 Server

Strong troubleshooting skills, including methodical problem isolation

 

Database tuning and optimization

 

Exposure to Web-based technologies a plus.
