JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Language Computer Corporation, located in Richardson, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), has developed and commercialized award-winning technologies in natural language processing, specifically in question answering, information extraction and information retrieval, and the company has ambitious plans for the future.

 

We are currently looking for a Junior Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the administration of all Linux Servers, workstations, and network hardware devices. 

 

Duties may include the following:

 

v Building and testing of new servers

v Installs, maintains, supports and upgrades operating systems and application software on all servers (physical and virtual)

v Manages, supports and administers enterprise servers and network devices

v Manages all DNS, DHCP, web, email, and NIS.

v Applies security patches and service packs to software as needed

 

This position requires an individual to be detail oriented, highly organized, possess the ability to develop an effective working relationship with the company?s operations? staff, and provide the tools to support the company?s business, both by working independently and as part of a team.

 

The minimum qualifications to be considered for this highly visible position within a successful, growth-oriented environment include:

 

v Experience with RedHat Linux, Fedora, and Windows XP

v Experience with Dell Servers

v RHCT certification preferred

v 1-3 years experience

v Bachelor?s degree preferred
