Junior and Senior Software Engineers

Our high-profile startup in Honolulu, Hawaii has built a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) based Web application that runs on Java - take a peek at http://www.chipin.com or read about us here. We're looking for an experienced Java and PHP developer. We're currently a tiny team and need to execute quickly! A competitive salary and equity package commensurate with experience will be offered.

Job Description:
-Join a world-class team of Web developers and creative professionals to create a unique class of social networking applications, from early design through implementation and final deployment
-Use your blend of creativity and your logical mindset to act as a liaison between marketing, engineering, and creative teams to effectively implement and deploy applications in a timely manner
-You'll work on a variety of server-side projects, including database connectivity, email handling, API support, and integration with third-party APIs (such as PayPal)

Technical Requirements:
-At least five years of programming in Java
-Experience with Spring & J2EE (Servlets, JSP/JSTL, and JDBC)
-Experience with MySQL 4.1 or later (or similar DB)
-Experience developing for the *nix environment
-Ability to work under pressure and close deadlines

Nice to Have Experience:
-iBatis
-Axis (1.x)
-JMS
-JMX
-Webwork
-Resin/Quercus
-PHP5
-Familiarity with ACH/credit card processing
-Familiarity with the PayPal API
-Knowledge of Amazon Web Services
-Previous start-up experience

General Requirements:
-Must be willing to work onsite in Hawaii
-A high task load is expected. You should be able to work within tight deadlines while exhibiting exemplary time management and task prioritization
-Strong analytic skills, especially in assessing and designing for performance
-Meticulous attention to detail
-Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction and knowledge transfer to teammates
-Must possess ability to work with minimal to no supervision
-Positive attitude and absolute professionalism in the workplace
-Must have the unrestricted legal authorization to work directly for any company in the U.S.
