Lead Curriculum Developer

 


Job Description


The Lead Content Developer designs the training curriculum for his/her assigned product(s), and project manages the development of content identified in the curriculum.  The Lead is the front line for new product releases, gauging impact on existing content and needs for new content.  He/She works with Product Management, R&D, and Enablement Managers to gather and scope content requirements.  The Lead project manages the development of content.  Content development may be performed by local content developers and subject matter experts (SMEs), by offshore teams, or directly by the Lead themselves. 


 


Responsibilities


·  Conducts front-end analysis to design training curriculum for assigned product(s). 


·  Monitors new product releases.  Creates the project plan to develop the content needed for a new product release within the required timelines.


·  Works with management to scope resource needs.


·  Creates training materials in a variety of formats (including ILT, VILT, CBT and WBT) that meet/exceed quality standards (4.0 or better).


·  Project manages the content for assigned product(s), including coordinating and reviewing work by offshore development teams.


·  Provides infrastructure requirements to support courses for the assigned product(s).  Validates that infrastructure requirements are met.


·  Maintains strong relationships with Product Management, Engagement Managers, and other stakeholders.


·  Maintains strong relationships with SME’s and other content sources (Tech Pubs, R&D, etc.).


·  Works with the Multimedia group to facilitate the creation of new graphics, modifications to existing graphics, and creation of WBT and CBT training materials.


·  Evaluates customer feedback and metrics in order to identify potential areas of improvement.


·  Monitors stakeholder feedback, and respond within prescribed timelines.


·  Responds quickly to customer and stakeholder inquiries and issues related to assigned courses or product(s).


·  Provides regular status updates to management and stakeholders.


·  Supports the efforts of the Certification group by reviewing and contributing to certification exam questions.


·  Contributes to the definition and improvement of standard processes and templates within Content Development & Certification.
