Lead Software Design Engineer for Test Team - WinCE

OVERVIEW:

For this position, with a leading manufacturer of communications products, you will be working closely with development teams while leading a group of QA engineers in the testing of a voice-over-IP (VoIP) product.

 

Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing functional specifications
Authoring and executing detailed test plans and test cases
Managing test resources and equipment
Supporting deployment of the VoIP application
Participating in schedule planning
Determining test strategies, objectives, and standards by studying software requirements and design
Authoring relevant project test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Coordinating, executing, and communicating test activities, such as functional, systems, and performance testing with other development staff
Ensuring implementations support defined business priorities and needs
Measuring product readiness
Using test case management and defect tracking systems to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize defect documentation, resolution support, and fix verification
Training and directing other testers to complete the test suite in compliance with project objectives
Certifying release candidates
Developing, managing, and extending existing test environments
Resolving testing issues by evaluating and modifying testing methods, objectives, and standards
Running automated and manual tests on packages
Triaging the failures in test
Installing machines and configuring the test environment
Generating reports of product status
Plan, define, develop, document and implement functional, manufacturing, systems, regression, acceptance, performance, stress/load tests to uncover defects, improve overall quality of the software and the device
Participating in code reviews and reviewing software changes
Participate in software and device defect tracking, review, prioritization, and resolution processes

 

REQUIREMENTS:
7+ years related work experience
Solid skills with C/C++ and C#
Extensive experience with Windows CE and Platform Builder
Experience with Perforce and Bugzilla
In-depth understanding of software development and quality assurance processes, practices, and methods
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to understand and translate functional requirements/specifications into working test plans, detailed test cases, and other formal test engineering documentation
Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions.
Experience with code coverage analysis
Experience writing test scripts and automated test tools and practices
Experience with embedded software development and testing on Windows CE, including usage of App Verifier, CE remote tools, the CETK, and eVC++
Experience developing CE automation (esp. for UI testing)
Familiarity with Windows CE test tools
Experience with device driver testing and BSP testing and validation
Associate?s degree or certification in relevant field (bachelor?s degree a plus)
VoIP test experience with VAIL and TUI preferred
Knowledge of with software & device certification and licensing procedures a plus
