Linux Systems Engineer

Banking The candidate will work with the Production, Development, & QA teams to build and deliver products, and to identify & resolve issues quickly.? The candidate's responsibilities will include assisting with build system maintenance and help automate the build process, including archiving and auditability of all releases, as well as participating and driving decisions on tools and processes for configuration management and help to implement. The candidate will help maintain testing environments for Production, Development & QA,?perform daily system management activities, including performing backups, ensuring security, reviewing logs, troubleshooting, repair, escalation and problem resolution of systems and applications issues.? Finally, the candidate will implement operational upgrades, system changes, software loads and tool set integrations, as well as proactively identify problems, performance and capacity bottlenecks, and drive the problems to resolution.



Required Skills:
2+ years configuration management experience.
BS in Computer Science preferred, 4-year degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience with the software production process.
Experience with Perforce or other source control tool.
Experience with Bugzilla or other defect/issue tracking software.
Experience with Linux (preferably Red Hat) and with Windows system administration.
Experience with make files, batch files and UNIX shell scripting.

Desired Skills:
Experience with MS-SQL preferred.
Experience with Java and Perl preferred.
Experience with web-delivered applications and/or e-commerce a plus.
Experience creating and working with detailed schedules.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness and ability to provide 24x7 support, often requiring long hours and variable hours.
Ability to work under stress as a member of a small team.
