Log Analyst

We are #1 in developing ultra-high-performance Log Management appliances on Linux platforms, providing real-time log data aggregation, analysis, and retention for enterprise IT depts. This provides critical information for compliance and legal protection necessary for HIPPA and Sarbanes-Oxley. 

You will apply your 5+ yrs. of experience in complex system deployment, administration, and/or analysis as a Log Analyst in our Log Labs Group. In this role, you will apply your resourcefulness in conducting technical research through vendor websites, technical discussion forums, and technical publications in order to: 

? Provide system-level expertise in a variety of technologies such as security/network devices, system applications, user applications, user applications, application servers, databases, and operating systems

? Conduct research for logging/messaging capability of log sources and capture supporting data including log message generation triggers, content, format, storage medium, transport/protocol, and transmission rate

? Collect and analyze sample log messages, produce and apply message classification, and design message parsing rules

? Generate proposals for device support that aligns with the company?s strategic objectives and product development directions

? Work with internal groups to design, implement, test, and document device support, including processing, alerting, and reporting capabilities

? Maintain a library of sample log message, associated attributes, and vendor product configuration and messaging documentation

? Track vendor product developments through new releases and revisions/patches


Skills that will help you succeed in this role are: 

? Experience in security log analysis, application log analysis, and log management.

? Utility scripting capability

? Systems/applications development

? Storage management or network management

? Log transport protocols

? Pattern recognition
