MTS-B Integration of Software-Intensive Systems (ISIS)

SUMMARY:
The individual in this position will work as a member of the Integration of Software-Intensive Systems (ISIS) Initiative which focuses on helping organizations understand how to effectively migrate to net centric operations. The individual will investigate and develop concepts, methodologies, and technologies that are targeted toward interoperability between systems of systems. The individual must have a balanced set of experiences in understanding both the basic technologies needed for interoperable systems, as well as the organizational and management issues that need to be addressed. Emphasis will be on action oriented research that investigates problems and develops repeatable solutions that can be transitioned to real world systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Eight years experience in the development and acquisition of software-intensive systems; Experience in integration of off-the-shelf components into a system; or achieving system-of-systems interoperability; or research in closely-related areas; or use of techniques and tools for integration and interoperability. Working knowledge of the DoD acquisition process is a plus. Knowledge of spiral development and experience in large-scale system engineering is also a plus.

Must have the following abilities and skills: Ability to work with and lead teams of professionals; ability to interact diplomatically with partners, customers, and sponsors; ability to develop plans and manage projects; ability to capture learning from engagements; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven presentation skills, including instructional delivery skills; willingness to work to evolve existing results, approaches, and courses, as well as creating new ones. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and function productively as a team member.

Primarily sedentary, long periods of sitting, some bending, stretching and lifting up to several reams of paper, may have to travel to other campus locations, travel to customer sites.

Normal office conditions; however close contact with CRT for prolonged periods of time.

The ability to work well under pressure of deadlines.

Successful candidate must be able to pass a background investigation.
