MTS-B Software Architecture Technology Initiative (Research Focus)

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for working with the SEI software architecture experts in conducting research in software architecture: Responsibilities include:

?Contribute to research in the areas of architectural tactics, architecture design methods, architecture reconstruction, and/or self-healing architectures.

?Contribute to the development of an expert architectural design assistant and/or other automated support for software architecture.

?Participate on teams for customer specific efforts in applying software architecture research.

?Author publication-quality technical reports as part of the defined SEI technical work plan.

?Make presentations on SEI software architecture research and experience.

?Maintain an active role in the software professional community.

?Assist in the planning of SEI technical work in software architecture.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in software engineering related field.

Six years of combined experience as practitioner, and/or educator in software engineering.

Developed knowledge and skills in software architecture as demonstrated by direct system experience and/or publications; developed knowledge and skills in real-time performance, reliability, security or other quality attributes; demonstrated contributor to software engineering community; strong written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills. Technical currency in distributed systems, web technology, object technology; experience in applied artificial intelligence.

Ability to travel.

Ability to meet inflexible deadlines, work under pressure, and handle multiple assignments at once.

Successful candidate must be able to pass a background investigation.
