Manager of Information Technology
Summary
We have an immediate need for an IT Manager capable of filling a multi-faceted role. The successful candidate will combine exceptional team management skills, broad hands-on technical capability, day-to-day systems administration, and the ability to plan and execute strategic IT objectives to support the corporation. The IT environment within the Company combines both business systems that support operations and a large and complex infrastructure supporting the company's engineering activities.
Responsibility, Authority and Essential Duties:
? Lead the IT staff, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, evaluation, and professional development.
? Manage relationships with vendors, outsourced service providers and consultants. These relationships must be driven to maximize the value and quality delivered to the Company in both the near-term and long-term.
? Manage the development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including servers, desktops, laptops, phones, printers, and all network and telecommunications infrastructure.
? Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and servicing provisioning.
? Lead the IT department?s operational and strategic planning. Benchmark, analyze and make recommendations for improvement and growth of IT systems and infrastructure. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT depending and initiatives.
? Help manage the financials of the IT department, including budgeting, purchasing and budget review.
? Work with the engineering organization to develop and deploy systems and policies that enable network-centric development while maintaining the integrity of the company?s IT infrastructure.
? Support the relocation of the Company's different locations if needed. Develop and implement a plan to provision any new buildings for networking, telecommunications, printing and data center services.
? Other related duties as appropriate and required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor?s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:Minimum 7 years experience in a corporate Information Technology department, with at least three years of management experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. A service orientation and the ability to motivate in a team-oriented environment. Superior analytical, evaluative and problem solving abilities.
Experience managing technical projects. Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple simultaneous, complex, time-critical technical activities.
Working knowledge of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2000 and 2003 (Domain Control, Active Directory).
- Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.
- TCP/IP network management, isolation, routing, DNS and general LAN/WAN administration.
- Backup methodology including backup applications (VERITAS Backup Exec) and tape library systems.
- Security and control through the administration of Active Directory group policies, procedures and push technologies. Intrusion detection systems.
- Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless management systems.
- Fibre-Channel SAN management.
- Database applications, including SQL Server and Oracle.
- External/internal Web application development.
- ERP administration.
- Microsoft desktop 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows XP desktop deployment
- Preferred candidate should possess MCSA 2003 and MCSE 2003 certifications
