Allegro MicroSystems is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Software Engineer (VB Programmer/Analyst) to join our Worcester team. The position requires strong technical programming ability as well as significant user interaction in developing solutions in support of company objectives. You must be a self-starter who can successfully manage projects and priorities to completion. Strong communication skills are essential in this position.

 

In this position, you will:

 Maintain and support manufacturing process control applications Support and enhance wafer mapping and data analysis applications Migrate existing applications from VB6 and ASP to .NET Interact with the user community to determine the needs of the users and propose solutions to meet those needs.

 

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, related experience plus a minimum of 2 years experience in application development in the Windows environment. Experience in the following areas is also required: 

 VB6 (using ADO with SQL Server) Classic ASP VB.NET or C# (including ADO.NET, ASP.NET, Web Service development) SQL Server 2000 / 2003 (administration and stored procedure development) General Windows 2000/2003 Server system administration (IIS, FTP) 

 

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

 Java / JSP SAS Win32 API and GDI development within VB6
