Summary:
We are seeking a Marketing Communications Manager with excellent writing/editing and visual communication skills. Candidates should have 5-7 years of proven experience performing marketing communications activities for high-tech companies. We especially value highly motivated people who know when to work with and without supervision, and who can collaborate with a variety of departments and personalities to form consensus.
This role entails working closely with the Senior Marketing Communications Manager, Web Developer, Graphic Designers, Market Managers and others to help create content and messaging for a variety of internal and external marketing materials. These materials include Web content, PowerPoint presentations, direct mail, sales brochures, and other collateral. Flexibility, an eye for design, and the ability to effectively distill volumes of information to communicate key themes are essential to this position. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player with a high level of energy, a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in writing, editing and formatting internal and external company communications (including sales brochures, direct mail pieces, Web copy, advertising copy, and white papers)
* Create and manage an internal company communications program, working with various departments to develop consistent and compelling messages/themes
* Help develop visual concepts to reflect complex technical processes
* Develop and format PowerPoint sales presentations
* Work with designers and market managers to create compelling direct mail/advertising concepts and messaging
* Review written material for accuracy, creative viability and integration with other messaging
* Help to ensure concepts, copy and design are clear and professional, as well as appropriate for various targeted market segments
* Work with vendors, suppliers and outside agencies in the development and execution of marketing communication deliverables
Requirements:
Communication Skills:
* Excellent writing and editing skills for a wide range of marketing communications
* Ability to create and format sales collateral, direct mail copy, Web content, and white papers
* Ability to take complex information and create clear, persuasive and consistent messages
* Problem-solving skills and proficiency in articulating clear direction
Visual Communication Skills:
* Proficiency in PowerPoint presentation development (visual concepts)
* Ability to develop concepts for representing text in a visual format
* Familiarity with design and messaging concepts
Interpersonal/Business Skills:
* Team player ? able to participate and contribute in campaigns; willing to help others even when it?s not in an area directly related to job title
* Contributes ideas for corporate (not individual) progress and benefit
* Ability to work with inter-departmental groups to create key messages/themes for company communications
* Capacity to develop a deep knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as its sales organization, goals and objectives
Technical Skills:
* Familiarity with HTML and Web marketing strategies
* Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint
* Basic understanding of design software, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience:
* Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism
* 5-7 years experience in marketing and/or communications for high-tech companies
