Member of Technical Staff - ScopeTools
The candidate will contribute to the dynamic debugging tools developed for Wind River platforms including VxWorks and Wind River Linux. From developing solutions for new architectures to consolidating and improving current designs, the successful candidate will demonstrate their computer science skills by building products that aid the customer in solving device software development problems.
The Member of Technical Staff candidate must have proven skills in the design and implementation of device software, as well as software components and development tools. Experience with Linux and Eclipse is essential. The candidate must have proven knowledge of the Linux kernel architecture including experience in kernel threads, contexts and debugging techniques. The candidate must also have proven experience designing, developing and debugging modules and applications using VxWorks. The job requires a knowledge of a variety of processor architectures, communication protocols, and device software development and debugging tools. The candidate must be able to quickly apply prior knowledge to troubleshoot complex problems.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of VxWorks or Linux embedded software development experience
- Experience using and developing tools for embedded developers.
- Software development experience on multiple common embedded processor types (PowerPC, MIPS, X86, ARM, etc.)
- Knowledge of the inner workings of debuggers, profilers, coverage tools and trace tools
- Strong C knowledge, some C++ and assembly
- Java experience (SWT, Eclipse, networking, JNI, etc.) is required.
- Knowledge of VxWorks and linux kernel internals, device driver development, board bring-up and application development (pthreads, sockets etc)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of estimating and completing software development tasks on time
- Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working in a team environment
- Comfortable with UNIX and Windows development environments
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent industry experience
