Multiplayer Software Engineer
Founded in May 1998 by industry veteran Chris Taylor, Gas Powered Games is a privately owned, interactive entertainment company specializing in computer games.
Gas Powered Games is located in Redmond, Washington.
GPG is seeking engineers passionate about multiplayer gaming communities and capable of delivering bulletproof, feature-rich software. The Multiplayer Software Engineer would be responsible for nut-and-bolts development of a high-load, high-availability, customer-focused multiplayer experience. But perhaps most importantly, the ideal candidate has tons of experience as a consumer of multiplayer games, able to readily discern the difference between a complicated pain in the neck and a seamless, hassle-free experience that gets you right into the game.
Requirements
5+ years development experience.Significant experience with professional game development (PC, console, multiplayer handheld, etc); or large-scale, enterprise software development in the relevant technologies (below) and a demonstrated passion for multiplayer gaming.Expert-level developer experienced with the following technologies:C# / C++.Net FrameworkASP.NETScripting languagesExcellent knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP network protocols.Excellent knowledge of Client/Server and Peer-to-Peer network architectures.Experience developing high performance applications in clustered environments.Experience with multiplayer matchmaking, ladders and community-based features.Demonstrated experience with multiplayer gaming communities (e.g. mod- and map-creation, competitive gaming, etc).B.S in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
