NETWORK SERVICES TECHNICIAN

 

CAP-MPT a lead provider of medical malpractice liability protection in CA has an opening for a Network Services Technician in its Los Angeles office.  Responsibilities include:  assist in installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintainance of  Company?s desktop PC?s and  software.  Configuration/administration of Microsoft Windows network, Cisco Networking equipments (routers, switches, firewalls), installation and replacement  of new and defective components.  Respond to end-user network questions,  devise proper solutions and initiate corrective actions.  Consult with software and hardware vendors and other establishments to solve problems.  Keep abreast with latest Network Operating Systems, Internet/Intranet Server and Client software, Email systems, Desktop Operating Systems and Office Suite products for planning, installation and maintenance.  Research new hardware, software and communications technologies to provide a wide variety of solutions for the company.  Participate in the planning and implementation of the current and future technological needs of the organization.  Travel to branch offices to assist employees at those locations.  Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

BS in Computer Science

3 years experience in computer repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Microsoft Certified Software Engineer preferred.

  In-depth knowledge of PC?s and software.

  Knowledge of video conferencing technology and Mitel IP routing systems

  Ability to travel to regional offices ? Driver?s License a must.

  Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and solve complex repair problems.

  Ability to work with minimal supervision and to work overtime as needed..

  Excellent communication and organizational skills.
