We are currently seeking to fill a Netbackup Storage Systems Engineer position for our client in Lakeland, FL. Location: Lakeland, FL

Salary: $42,000-$80,000

Type: Perm



Responsibilities:

- Storage software and hardware design, installation, configuration, integration and support

- System administration of the enterprise storage environment

- Storage performance tuning, problem determination and resolution

- New technology awareness, research and system integration

- Project team participation

- On-call support responsibilities



Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in computer science, or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience

- 3 years experience with Storage Area Networking (SAN) technology including storage provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance management and volume management

- Experience and knowledge of Unix (AIX, HP, Sun) and Windows operating systems

- Must be able to use Storage Management Tools to discover, monitor, provision and report on the storage infrastructure

- Successful candidates should have experience with open systems storage provisioning, reporting, and troubleshooting

- Experience supporting computer operating system software and hardware

- Excellent attendance and punctuality record

- Excellent communication and team skills

- Must be flexible and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner

- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision

- High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity

- Good human relation skills

- Must show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work



Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years experience with Veritas Netbackup Datacenter in a large multi-platform environment. Use of the Shared Storage Option

- Proficient with Netbackup GUI and command line utilities

- Proficient in shell or Perl programming and scripting

- Proficient in configuration of fiber-based tape and disk infrastructure consisting of ADIC Scalar 10K tape library, IBM LTO1/2 tape devices, Brocade switch/director infrastructure, and multi-vendor disk subsystems (HP, HDS, and EMC)

- Extensive experience and strong understanding of Storage Area Networking (SAN) technology, including storage provisioning, LUN management, zoning, performance management, and volume management

- Experience and understanding of snapshot and data replication technologies, and HDS

- Experience with support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for tape backup and SAN environments

- Experience and strong knowledge of Unix (HP, SUN, AIX) and Windows

- Teradata experience (as it relates to Veritas Backup)

- MS Exchange experience (as it relates to Veritas Backup)

- Knowledge of the following databases, as they related to Veritas Backup (SQLServer, DB2, Informix, Oracle)

- Experience as a Lead Engineer providing support for large projects from requirements through implementation
