JOB DESCRIPTION:




 

Overview:



Participate as senior team member in implementing Enterprise Management Systems using Netcool Omnibus or other Network Management Systems. Must have strong Unix skills.



Duties include:

Work closely with UNIX, network, and database support groups and business application groups to prioritize requirements. Participate in the rotation of production support/primary duty with other team members. Coordinate resolution with infrastructure and application support groups and implement changes to prevent problem recurrence.



Technical Requirements:

BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (desired). 3-6 years experience in varied technical positions including Network System Management using Netcool Omnibus and Impact, Unix Administration and scripting (PERL/BOURNE/KORN). Contribute to configuration and customization of distributed agents (Micromuse SSM) and scripts for monitoring network and database devices, application logs, SYSLOGs, etc. Netcool (Omnibus) expertise required in addition to strong troubleshooting skills. Unix System Administration (Solaris 2.6, Solaris 8). Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP management Protocols. High Level of interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Experience in SQL Server or Oracle Databases (desired). Experience in Netcool Webtop, MTTrapd and NerveCenter Probes, ISM/WSH (desired)
