Network Operations (NOC) Technician - Large-scale servers

The Pay By Touch companies have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on CNN as one of the pioneers in the fast emerging Biometrics Technologies, where fingerprints may replace money, passwords and keys. Pay By Touch is leading the introduction of payment systems using fingerprint biometrics in retails stores. Today, over 1,500 grocery stores, convenience stores, liquor stores and banks are using Pay by Touch services.

 

We are growing fast and we have an immediate need for a NOC Technician level 1 to provide support to a 24x7 production environment working at our Irving, Texas facility, including support, trouble-shooting hardware, software and network related problems. 

You will be responsible for maintaining the highest availability and best possible performance of multiple large-scale web and application servers, as well as, network and security equipment. You will also coordinate and perform planned maintenance activities. 

 

Initially the position will be an evening shift (4PM - 1AM))

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Constantly and proactively monitor, test and analyze the production environment

Perform first level hardware/software problem analysis, identification and resolution; execute problem documentation, escalation and notification procedures

Ensure that all service level commitments and processing deadlines are met

Update and maintain operator activity/turnover logs and ticketing system

Work closely with internal support groups and external service providers to identify, resolve or coordinate the resolution of Network and System problems and issues

Perform Incident management.

Oversee and/or perform all aspects of site planned and unplanned maintenance

Implement system changes, jobs and maintenance and work with teams to follow-up on bugs and issues introduced during this process.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

 

Minimum 2 years experience in a network operations center (NOC) environment.

 

Hands on experience with frame relays, T1's, DDS, LAN/WAN protocols, and test equipment (protocol analyzer, Sniffers)

 

Hands-On experience with Dell servers, Windows Operating Systems, IIS, SQL, and Microsoft .NET environment

 

Knowledge of Network Management Tools and experience with Hierarchical Network Management Systems (NMS)

 

General knowledge of Cisco Equipment (router, switches, IOS)

 

General knowledge of: multiple network topologies, Voice PBX, and Microsoft operating systems and .NET environments

 

Ability to work with vendors, carriers and suppliers in the provisioning and maintenance of services

 

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written - with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees

 

Demonstrated ability to proactively resolve problems

 

Strong ability to perform well under pressure

 

Must be able to multi-task, be process-minded and detail oriented
