Network Software Developer

Western Extrusions, the alternative aluminum extruder in America is looking for a Network Software Developer who can maintain existing applications as well as design and develop new applications.  The desired candidate will thrive in an environment with a high degree of independence, but will translate their skills and technical support in order to provide some desktop support in an environment where priorities can change frequently.  Any company can proclaim superior quality and customer service, but it requires quality people to deliver on that promise; consequently we are looking for a career minded individual to join our highly dedicated team where quality and customer service is truly our mission.

Responsibilities include: Understand internal and external customer requirements in order to create/modify/validate full project scope documents for all new projects that thoroughly detail customer requirements. Design and develop high quality, stable and robust web based solutions that meet internal and external customer requirements.Ensure preliminary testing of all web based solutions is thoroughly completed before further testing commences within and outside of the IT department. Preliminary testing should include validation that functionality adds/deletes/changes work correctly as intended.Create/modify existing documentation and flowcharts to accurately reflect web based solution design, and provide end user documentation/manuals/help files on how to use the web based solution(s).

Technical Skills include:The individual must have advanced knowledge in ASP/ASP.NET.The individual must have advanced knowledge in Visual Basic/Visual Basic.NET. The individual must have intermediate knowledge in interfacing with relational databases, such as SQL Server. This also includes efficient database design, query tuning through indexes and the utilization of stored procedures.It is highly desirable for the individual to have advanced knowledge in Crystal Reports.

The desired candidate will have a bachelor degree in computer science with greater than 2 years experience as a programmer, preferable in a manufacturing environment.  A proven history of success in creatively approaching and standardizing work processes along with strong analytical problem solving and project management skills is a must.  Excellent oral and written communication skills with the detail of process documentation are necessary.
