One of our clients, a global data storage service provider with over 62 Internet Data Centers, in 35 cities spanning 5 continents is looking to hire a Database Administrator for their corporate location.

 

The best fit person for this role is a current Database Administrator that is looking to be the "go to" and single point of contact for database administration within a fast growing company. This is an opportunity to grow, work with cutting edge technology, and move into the Storage Services space with is one of the biggest in-demand services in technolgoy today!!

 

Some of the responsibilities of this position include:
Responsible for administration of all company databases including:
Evaluation, Installation, Upgrade, Migration, Licensing, Backup and recovery, Monitoring, Security, Performance, and User Management
Work with development staff to facilitate custom 3rd party software implementations
Design and Document database standards for all aspects of administration
Act as the primary technical interface for database matters to other departments, vendors, clients, etc.
Develop and maintain a close working relationship with all customers and clients both internal and external
Vendor Management
Mentor/Train IT personnel

 

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:
2-5 years (min) experience as a full-time Oracle DBA in UNIX environment
Oracle 8i/9i/10g database administration
Oracle RMAN
Oracle Tuning with Oracle Statspack, SQL trace, wait events, Oracle Enterprise Manager, etc.
Oracle certification strongly preferred
PostgreSQL Administration
MS SQL Server 2000 Administration
SQL Programming and tuning along with Shell scripting
SQL Plus
Data Modeling
Logical and Physical database design
Red Hat Linux
Solaris 8 or higher

The following are strong pluses:
Veritas NetBackup
Oracle PL/SQL programming of triggers, packages, etc.
Technical certifications (Oracle OCP, MCDBA, Red Hat, Solaris, Veritas, etc.)

 

This is a full time, immediate, permanent hire opportunity offering full benefits (huge company contribution!), great vacation plan and PTO, salary for this roll will not exceed upper $80's.
