Oracle Application Developer - #2392

Position Summary   CMU's School of Computer Science Computing Facilities Group is seeking a passionate, highly motivated Oracle Application Developer. The ideal candidate will be a creative and versatile programmer with 2 to 3 years experience not only developing and deploying Oracle based applications in a Solaris/Linux/Unix production environment, but also having been accountable for database administration.  The candidate will work in cooperation with other team members on several in-house Asset Management/Internal Recharge Oracle based database systems.  These development activities include, but are not limited to, design, documentation, programming, testing, deployment and maintenance.  The successful candidate will also help in the advancement of these applications both in functionality and performance as well as to support changing business rules.

Minimum Requirements

-  BS Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience

-  Two or more years experience as an Oracle Database Application Developer.

-  Skill in usage of SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager and scripting languages within Solaris (UNIX) and Windows environment.

-  Skill in using essential command languages, such as C, C++, Perl and/or Java.

-  An in depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

-  Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

-  Ability to comprehend system and application related materials; design and maintain applications

 

Preferred Requirements

-  BS Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

-  Three or more years experience as a Database Application Developer, including one year of experience programming in the C programming language or other higher level programming language
