Oracle Database Administrator

We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our Hosting team.  The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for full function database maintenance, design, support, backup and recovery planning and execution. 

 

Specific responsibilities include:Design assistance, with an emphasis in application and database performance monitoring, SQL tuning, problem identification and resolution;Maintaining, tuning and monitoring the operation efficiency and technical integrity of databases in support of internal and external customers;Providing proficient project management methods, standards and procedures in delivering services;Creating and maintaining departmental database documentation and standards; andWorking with vendors on system implementation, problem resolution, enhancement requests, installation, test and implementation of software fixes and upgrades; andOther related duties as assigned.

 

The successful candidate must possess:Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related degree or equivalent work experience;3-5 years experience performing a similar role;Experience with Oracle 9i/10g application services, installation and maintenance;Experience with PL/SQL, SQL Plus, stored procedures/packages, import/export, database administration and replication;Experience with UNIX, Solaris, Linux and/or Windows;Ability to support third party POS systems;Ability to troubleshoot problems in person, over the phone or via email while maintaining a professional demeanor;Ability to make informal presentations;Strong analytical and judgment skills;Strong interpersonal and communication skills;Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; andStrong self initiative and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as working in a team environment.
