Oracle Reporting Consultant

As a member of the Oracle Business Intelligence and Warehousing team (BI&W), the Consultant will participate in broad, complex, and critical Oracle Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse engagements, providing guidance and direction to project team members, clients, and partners. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing Oracle Discoverer reporting solutions for the Oracle 11i eBusiness Suite applications as well as custom reporting solutions. Tasks include including gathering business requirements, analysis, estimating, report development, solution implementation, and presentations as necessary.

Qualifications:

Relevant experience developing customized reporting solutions sourcing from Oracle databases and Oracle 11i applications using Oracle Discoverer 4x/9x/10x and Oracle Reports 6x/9x. Candidates must have SQL and PL/SQL experience as well as expertise with Discoverer Administrator. Must have experience with setting up data level security for reporting. General data warehousing background is a plus. Experience with setting up Discoverer in 3-tier configuration as well as Oracle Portal is desired. Experience with Oracle Portal, XML Publisher would be considered a plus.

Candidates should have 5+ years of related professional work experience. Direct data warehousing and tuning experience is a plus. Must have excellent mentoring skills and proven ability to lead a team. Must be able to work independently with customers as well as in project team environments. Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills. Previous consulting experience is a plus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Working at the client site, consultant identifies and provides solutions to broad, complex, and critical work to address client?s Oracle Discoverer initiatives and issues. Using a high degree of insight and analytical skills, consultant develops new or enhanced methods and techniques to resolve problems. Recommends alternatives and provides risk assessments based on areas of expertise.

2) Contributes to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines.

3) Anticipates changes required in project plans and processes and recommends alternative approaches.

4) Develops and fosters a collaborative working relationship with clients. Works collaboratively with Oracle management team, consultants, project managers, and corporate development to develop consulting and project methodology, techniques, tools, and solutions.

5) Develops methods and techniques to improve the process of delivering solutions to clients. Utilizes Oracle consulting ?best practices? and implementation methodology while designing and implementing solutions at client sites.

6) Provides guidance, assistance, and training opportunities to team members and client staff. Mentors and coaches analysts and consultants.

7) Availability to travel 100% required.
