Passkey Senior Software Engineer Job Description

The Senior Software Engineer position is for an experienced J2EE Engineer with strong object-oriented design, programming and problem-solving skills using all aspects of the J2EE standard, as well as XML and Web Services.

The job entails:
40% OOAD, UML, Design & Requirements Analysis
40% J2EE coding, code reviewing and troubleshooting, requiring strong hands-on ability,
20% self-driven technical leadership and coordination of work with offshore developers

Technical Skills
Java, Oracle, J2EE, EJB, Struts, XML, Web Services, JSP, JDBC, Servlets, UML, J2EE Design Patterns, JBOSS/Tomcat/Orion/Weblogic/Websphere, EAI Projects, open-source frameworks, Eclipse, ANT
This is not a plain Java, JSP, Servlet position. The candidate must have experience with coding EJB?s, using J2EE design patterns, JMS and Web Services.

Required Qualifications
8+ yrs experience in software design & development
4 yrs of hands-on experience in building n-tier Java distributed apps
Strong experience in developing J2EE server-side applications
Solid understanding of Oracle concepts and strong SQL & Stored Proc skills
Minimum 1 year of hands-on EJB development experience
Experience with J2EE standard services such as JDBC, JNDI, JavaMail, JAXP, JMS, JMX and JAAS
Strong hands-on experience developing on and configuring a leading application server
A thorough understanding of OOAD methodologies and OO design patterns
Experience designing/developing systems with XML, XSLT, XML Schema
Experience with SOAP, JNI, RMI, multithreading
Good working knowledge of popular open source J2EE tools and frameworks
Solid understanding of web application MVC architecture (struts or similar)
Hands-on experience implementing at least one commercial-grade Web Service using J2EE, WSDL, SOAP/RPC, Apache Axis
Proficiency in the use of UML in the design of complex, internet-based applications
Will need strong references, and ability to handle very technical interview process
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Desired Qualifications
Internationalization using J2EE; experience with Tiles
Linux or Unix experience, including shell scripting, a strong plus
Experience in Performance tuning of enterprise applications
Experience with managing/leading teams
Experience with offshore projects, and/or Hospitality systems
Experience installing, configuring & managing JBOSS
JMX, Junit, Subversion, Cruisecontrol, ANT, CVS, VSS, other CM tools
Experience with security protocol & encryption algorithms
