Platform Architect - Software Products/Business Solutions

Objective:

 

? The Platform Architect will help research options, design, validate, and implement the common platform we use to deliver all of our client?s solutions. This will require the individual to work in close cooperation with our Professional Services, Hosting, and Infrastructure organizations, as well as Harte-Hanks corporate IT management.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

? Research technology options for data processing, integration, storage, resource management, end user access

? Help drive different proof of concept implementations and evaluate results both from a business as well as technology perspective

? Design and work with offshore resources to implement custom components required to complete and integrate our platform

? Help drive the change management and adoption required for the organization to adjust to new technologies and processes required to make optimal use of our platform

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

? BS or MS in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience

? 10+ years experience implementing software products/business solutions, preferably large high data volume processing environments

? Demonstrated ability to lead all technical aspects of design and implementation

? Excellent communication and presentation skills

? Design experience and hands on programming using the following technologies:

? ETL tools, preferably Ab Initio

? Java, C++ or other object oriented languages

? C and Unix systems level programming

? Soap, XML, html, and other web technologies

? Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server

? JMS, MQ Series or other messaging technologies

? Some experience with J2EE application servers preferred

? Solid experience working with version control systems and configuration management

? Solid experience in data, object, and systems modeling

? Some experience with utility and/or cluster computing preferred

 

Working Environment:

 

? The Platform Architect will work in the Billerica offices, with occasional travel to other business units and clients.
