Essential Functions:

Assume a technical leadership role on a team of highly skilled SQL Server professionals supporting the Monster web site databases. This position is for a highly seasoned industry recognized expert in Microsoft SQL Server administration and application support. In addition to taking on a technical leadership role in the team the person in this role will help to define and perfect our internal release and testing process and be proactively involved in the future changes that we make to the database, hardware, and application that our website and our company depends on. The Monster environment is a SQL 2000 installation with heavy use of replication and DTS packages. We are currently in the process of developing our SQL 2005 upgrade and implementation plan.  In addition to the staff we have located in the US also have a global DBA and development teams that we support. Qualifications:
8+ years of SQL Server DBA experience preferred.
Expert knowledge of DTS packages and SQL replication.
Expert optimization, database sizing, capacity planning, back up, Recovery skills.
Understanding of MS SQL server security administration (users and permissions).
Expert performance tuning/MS SQL server development skills - SQL Profiler and Performance Monitor, SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, functions and transactions analysis, thorough understanding of indices and statistics (Query Optimizer)
Knowledge of hardware subsystems of MS SQL server storage - SAN experience is a plus.
BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred.
Must be detailed oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
