The purpose of Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA) is to provide the project team and management with insight into the project?s compliance with, and effective use of, the processes that are used to develop and deliver projects.
PPQA activities are performed in accordance with the PPQA Policy and the PPQA Plan for each project. PPQA practices, standards, processes, and procedures form the basis for conducting reviews and audits. The PPQA analyst will review project-specific work products and hold process audit interviews to provide evidence that standards, processes, and procedures specified by the Software Development Plan are being followed.
The PPQA activities are defined into three main processes:
* Project Process - encompass the standard set of activities performed to support a Project
* Non-Compliance - provides the mechanism to document, track and resolve non-compliance issues from the PPQA Project Process.
* Improvement Process - allows the organization to identify opportunities to improve the baseline set of PPQA activities and processes.

This is a project level position. The PPQA Analyst will be assigned tasks on one or more development projects at a time. Depending on the size of the project, they may work alone or with other PPQA Analysts.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

* Ensure that the PPQA plan, policy, standards, and procedures are in place to be used to review and audit the project?s work products and activities and to report the findings.
* Lead the implementation of the PPQA plan, policy, standards, and procedures for the project.
* Draft and maintain project?s PPQA Plan
* Provide consultation in the development and approval of the project?s plans
* Conduct process audits and work product reviews to ensure that the projects are being conducted according to published plans and established procedures and policies
* Encourage, educate, and report if a process, procedure or template is not used, and escalate non-compliance items as appropriate.
* Facilitate and track resolution of non-compliance items and escalate when appropriate
* Collect, analyze, and report the findings of its activities to the Engineering Group, Project Manager, and Development and Senior Management.
* On an event-driven basis, meet with the affected stakeholders to review outstanding issues, project risks, or quality issues that may have been exposed through PPQA audits and reviews and discuss upcoming project activities
* Participate in project status and milestone meetings
* Educate and mentor staff when need is identified through audits and reviewsPosition Description
Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines. Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ascertain quality of software. Reviews new or modified program, including documentation, diagram, and flowchart, to determine if program will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines. May review computer operating log to identify program processing errors. Tests program for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards. May identify differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggest modifications to conform to standards. May conduct compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs.Minimum Requirements
4+ years experience in software and/or program testing.Additional Knowledge & Skills

* Experience in project planning and management of multiple projects.
* Experience with software quality management
* Experience with CMM-SW or CMMI (Level 2 or higher) Process Areas
* Experience with development tools ? Caliber, StarTeam, SharePoint, Together
* Knowledge of McKesson product lines and related third party products.
* Knowledge and understanding of McKesson development processes and procedures for more than one functional area and/or product
* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, etc.
