Position Summary:

Be one of the key architects of the R&D team, as we continue to aggressively grow our existing business and expand into adjacent markets. Own the architecture and lead a team of technical leads and engineers responsible for our Configuration Management Data Base (CMDB), the central component of our Business Service Management Solution. Play a lead role in help setting the vision and further enhance the industry leading and award winning CMDB.



Job Duties/Accountabilities of Position

? Own the architecture for the BMC Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

? Provide technical leadership for a team of 15+ engineers.

? Help drive the strategy and technical direction of CMDB. Ensure that our strategy is competitive and compelling.

? Work with architects of consumers of CMDB across the company to ensure appropriate development and usage of CMDB in other integrations that are part of the BSM solution.

? Responsible for delivery of high quality commercial software releases to aggressive schedules. Lead/ participate all aspects of product development, from requirements analysis to product release.



Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:

? Extensive working knowledge and experience of software architecture and related processes that are used for developing complex, multi-tier enterprise distributed software

? Proven, effective leadership in a technical environment (leading teams of at least 15 engineers)

? Ability to communicate effectively with and influence architects of products in the Service Management Solution teams

? Excellent customer and partner interaction skills.

? Strong decision making skills, a positive take charge attitude, and the ability to drive plans to completion.

? Knowledge and experience of multiple software development methodologies Knowledge of established and emerging software technologies (e.g. J2EE, .NET, SOA etc.) is highly desirable? Knowledge and experience of enterprise-level IT management software ? including market requirements, competitive landscape and a good understanding of the technology issues in this space.



Experience/Education Required/Desired:

? Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. MS (in Computer Science) preferred.10+ years of product development experience and a proven track record of delivering high quality commercial enterprise products; at least 3 years experience as an architect or a senior team lead for a complex enterprise product. Experience leading multi-site teams, including offshore development sites is preferred.
