Title: Product Support Specialist – EDM Solutions #59405
Location: Novi, MI

General Summary: In this role as a Product Support Specialist, you will have opportunities to help support customers implementing some of the latest and most exciting products in the Autodesk line. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a skilled technical analyst with strong problem-solving abilities. This position requires a thorough understanding and hands-on experience with the following: Microsoft Windows /2000/2003 Server Operating Systems, Microsoft XP Professional, MS SQL Sever 2000, Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows security, DHCP, DNS, and WINS. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to write administrative scripts, preferably in VBScript, and have worked in environments with 40+ Intel servers and 200+ desktops. Certifications, such as MCSE and/or MSDBA, are important. Nevertheless, hands-on work experience is just as important, and may be considered in lieu of certifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide direct technical support to internal and external customers and partners via approved communication channels on Autodesk data management products. Document internal and external customer and partner interactions in the department's knowledge based system. Use knowledge based tools to diagnose, resolve technical issues and document problem resolutions in the knowledge based tools. Work with development, testing and documentation teams during product development cycle to ensure quality. Investigate, develop and present formal and informal training on Autodesk products and support issues as assigned. Develop training plans and mentor new product support team members. Proactively document and communicate issue resolutions with team members.

Required Experience: Five years experience working, support and implementing EDM/PDM software in a customer environment as a consultant or an Application Engineer. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Experience troubleshooting software and hardware problems.

Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong command of the English language. Strong customer service skills including phone etiquette and conflict resolution. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem solving skills, and the ability to interpret technical questions. Solid understanding of problems engineers typically encounter in using CAD software with an EDM/PDM system. Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting workstation and server operating systems from Microsoft. Solid understanding of routers, firewalls, web servers, web proxy servers. Client/Server SQL Database setup configuration and administration. Manage user accounts and administer security controls.
