Programmer 2

A Leading Aerospace Manufacturing company has immediate openings for a Programmer 2 in Orange County.

 

Job Summary:  Under the general supervison of the application Development Manager, collaborate on the analysis, design, implementation and tsting of database driven character and web-based  systems using Progress 4GL. programmer works closely with other programmers with the primary responsibility for the troubleshooting and support of new and existing applications.  Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Summary of essential job functions: 

*  Application Development and Maintenance

*  Work with the Application Development Manager and Business Analysts on design, prototyping,  programming, coding, testing, integration, support, and deployment of updates as needed.

*  Develop new modules, features and reports to support the business and marketing needs.

*  Develop code using Progress 4GL and other languages/environments.

*  Develop, deploy and maintain supporting database queries.

*  Develop and maintain technical and end-user documentation.

*  Design and implement core application infrastructure

*  Research and fix data errors as needed.

 

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field

*  Candidates should have 2-4 years of programming experience in Progress 4GL

*  Fundamental knowledge and competency in WebSpeed.

*  Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to accept interruptions as part of the routine.

*  Must have the drive and passion to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Technical Skills Desired:

*  Familiarity with other Progress Products

*  Familiarity specifically with Sonic ESB

*  Familiarity with database-driven website design

*  Familiarity with .NET Programming languages, specifically C#

*  Familiarity with Windows'Internet Information Services

*  HTML, JavaScript, XML and GUI design

*  Basic understanding of Apache status codes and log files
