General Summary: Join a team of software engineers responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of CAD related features in the most widely used PC CAD product in the world, AutoCAD. The successful candidate will join the AutoCAD software development team a high powered, fast moving part of the Platform Technology Division at Autodesk. This senior software development position offers an opportunity to work on important, innovative features that will shape the way CAD users work in the future.
Responsibilities: Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot product features Deliver results defined by customer requirements and product specifications with a high level of quality Work both independently and as an integral member of a high performance team. Estimate time requirements for assigned projects. Deliver assignments on time, adhering to pre-determined specification and quality standards Work with Product Marketing in providing innovative and creative solutions to customer requirements Work closely with Test Development and Quality Engineers in unit level testing and problem resolution Provide input to Technical Publications and review documentation of new features
Requirements: 5 or more years of C++ programming experience for commercial software applications BS in CS, Mathematics, ME, EE, or equivalent Experience developing Windows based applications Experience with Microsoft's Visual Studio The ability to design and develop graphics software systems Experience with performance analysis tools, including profilers and benchmarks
Desirable Skills: Experience developing 3D graphics API and libraries Experience using Heidi, Direct3D and OpenGL graphics API's Experience designing and developing high-end 3D rendering techniques Experience working with texture mapping, materials and lighting models Working knowledge of AutoCAD or the CAD industry Knowledge of developing applications using AutoCAD's ARX API Experience with Microsoft's .NET framework
Qualitative Skills: Willing to work extended hours as required to complete projects Showing flexibility under changing conditions Able to work as a member of a team Self-directed. Willing to take initiative. Requiring minimal supervision Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans Good communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills Able to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously
