Project Lead - Hyperion, Paramount Pictures

The Opportunity:

Paramount Pictures Information Technology Division has an immediate opening for a functional Project Lead to take the lead in streamlining the planning processes in our Corporate Planning and Corporate Financial Reporting systems divisions.  In a united effort with our parent company, Viacom, we will be implementing Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) for our Corporate systems.

 

The hands-on Hyperion Project Lead will work closely with all levels within the business community & IT both at Paramount & Viacom in New York to expedite the planning and implementation of Hyperion Planning and HFM ? Phase 1 to be completed by year end 2006 ? follow-up implementations in other divisions is targeted for 2007.   

 

They will be a liaison to the business units, assisting in planning and leading project meetings and demonstrating results to management in regular status meetings. The Project Lead will be responsible for ensuring that service levels are met in a dynamic environment - providing evaluations & solutions, managing and performing activities, fielding questions or requests for advice and assuring resolution occurs in a timely and effective manner.

 

It is vitally important that the Sr. Systems Analyst develop a strong client communications infrastructure.  This includes strong verbal communication, as well as substantial system documentation.

 

Ideally, our preferred candidate would be considered an Essbase developer but candidates who have significant experience as an Essbase/Hyperion Planning Administrator will also be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

v  Develop project plans for Hyperion Planning and HFM implementation in association with IT & Client Executive teams.

v  Maintain and assist in development of existing Hyperion Planning and HFM  applications

v  Write and fix various Calculation Scripts

v  Enhance and support web based data entry forms within the Hyperion Planning application

v  Assist in the analysis, design, and development of new reports as required

v  Responsible for all problem resolution, incident closure and reporting

v  Provide issue trend tracking and analysis and makes recommendations for improvement

v  Utilize query tools to analyze and reconcile data and to produce ad hoc reports

v  Provides management reporting to all levels of staff and senior management

 

Requirements:

To qualify for this high profile position, you will need:

? 2+ years experience and understanding of Hyperion Planning and/or HFM

? Minimum experience with at least two Hyperion Planning and/or HFM implementations

? 5+ years working experience with General Ledger, Accounting systems

? Proficiency with the Hyperion Excel Add-In component and its ability to query data

? Oracle or SQL server database experience ideal

? Additional skills might include:  Informatica, Teradata, Microstrategy, Cognos, .NET

? A proven track record for providing insightful analytical skills and creative problem solving

? Excellent written skills needed for technical documentation (samples may be requested during interview process)

? Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills

? Proficient production support troubleshooting skills

? Ability to write technical specifications, program, test, and manage the transition of modifications through the quality assurance and change control process

? MS Project and Project Management training preferred

? A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required

Other information:

Paramount?s hours are 9:00 AM ? 6:00 PM with rotational on-call responsibility. The position may require longer hours depending on the workload.  You will work on site at the Hollywood studio lot.
