Q-CERT Outreach, Awareness, and Training

SUMMARY:
The individual in this position will work as a member of the QCERT Outreach, Awareness and Training Team to develop and teach security improvement practices and curricula in information assurance and survivability for system and network administrators and managers. The candidate will be expected to work well in a collaborative team environment and to communicate effectively with others. Activities will include close work with customers from a variety of organizations, including government agencies and critical infrastructures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must be self-directed, have an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving, and work well communicating technical information to technical and non-technical users. The candidate must also be able to interact with clients and staff of all levels in a highly professional and competent manner.

Education/Training: BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Science with eight (8) years experience; MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Science with five (5) years experience; PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Science with three (3) years experience.


Experience: At least five (5) years relevant experience as a trainer and/or educator in system/network administration in a TCP/IP networked environment and very strong working knowledge of managing all aspects of Windows, UNIX/LINUX in a production environment is required. Demonstrated experience developing Information Security and technology training content as well as deploying content via both traditional and non-traditional training delivery mechanisms is a must. Experience with virtualization technologies and implementing production services in a virtualized environment is required. Experience building and maintaining lab environment for training courses is required. International experience is highly desirable.

Skills/Abilities: Candidate must be able to prioritize workload and complete deliverables on time, have good technical problem-solving skills, have strong analytical and information organization skills, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong technical teaching skills. Candidate must be skilled in instructional design, course development, and evaluation techniques. Candidate must be able to multitask and work effectively with multiple project teams and sponsors/customers. Technical proficiency with operating systems and detailed knowledge of network protocols are required. Must be able to speak/read English.

Mobility: Job requires international travel; Ability to travel to other locations in Doha, Qatar and CMU/SEI Pittsburgh office; and frequent local travel to client sites and workshop venues.

Environmental Conditions: close contact with CRT for long periods of time.

Mental: Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and communicate effectively.


Other: Candidate must be able to pass a background investigation and be willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar for a minimum of two years. Weekend and evening hours may be required.
