QA Test Engineer

QA Test Engineer Description: How would you like to help ship out this startup's FIRST product to the general public? Their product already has a beta version available on the web, and you, as QA Engineer, will provide expert resources to test and validate feature sets across an array of browser types and operating systems, to ensure a successful launch later this year.

Work with the VP of User Experience and development team to define and build testing scripts to validate product behaviors, user experience standards, data storage and retrieval. The QA Engineer is capable of providing manual testing as well as defining and setting up automated testing as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

(1.) Front-end UI validation: Define & build testing scripts for product behaviors, user experience standards, data storage and retrieval.....

(2.) Middle-tier & Back-end testing: Implement QA test methodologies with in-depth awareness of systematic testing techniques, strategies, tools, environments and their deployment across an n-tiered system.....

(3.) Analyze test data, report results, and make recommendations for corrective action.



Requirements:
The ideal candidate has a strong background in functional testing and the ability to design and develop test plans. In order to be successful, you will couple superior testing abilities with a strong understanding of the technical requirements and proven diagnostic and debugging skills.

Skills & Experience -

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

- Minimum 5 years experience in QA, emphasis in planning and implementation of test plans.

- Proficient with any load testing tools (for instance, LoadRunner, JMeter, OpenSTA).

- Experience of using test automation tools (ideally Mercury products).

- Experience with open source testing suites (such as like HTTunit, Junit).

- Works with bug/task tracking software.

- Deep and experienced background in functional testing and cross-browser support issues coupled with the ability to plan, design and review test plans.

- Strong understanding of front-end web technologies (for instance JavaScript, DHTML, Ajax, and CSS).

- Some knowledge of Java, XML, SQL is preferred.

- Proven diagnostic and debugging skills.

- Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.
