QA Test Manager

We are looking for a leader with solid experience in the area of Software Testing to manage a subset of the QA Testing organization.?? The QA Team Manager will focus on and be accountable for testing quality for custom IT development projects and maintenance efforts.?? Development environment is Windows based.? This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience managing a QA team to help develop best practices for software testing using onsite and offshore testing resources.

Responsibilities for this role include:

- Manage the daily activities of a team of test leads and testers?
- Accountable for the testing quality for the QA test team
- Provide escalation point-of-contact for development projects
- Work closely with portfolio management on test resource allocation including the test environment scheduling
- Responsible for Change Control approval
- Responsible for testing metrics for projects being tested
- Review Master and Detail Test Plans
- Ensure all project test cases are recorded in Test Director
- Implement and uphold best practices as defined by the QA testing team
- Work cross-department to identify and implement process improvement for project testing
- Responsible for the development and growth of Capital One Auto Finance QA associates

Required Skills:
- Applicant must have previous experience as a QA Test Manager or Team Lead
- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience in the IT industry
- Must have at least 5 years experience in the QA testing field?
- At least one year experience with Mercury Test Director
- Experience working in a Windows-based environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
- Previous experience with performance testing would be very beneficial
- Previous experience working with offshore resources would be very beneficial
- Testing Certification by SQE or similar a plus
