SR. J2EE DEVELOPER IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

 

This Professional Services technical consultant will work in supporting a Tier 1 mobile carrier customer to gather solution requirements, estimate work, develop custom J2EE-based software components, configure Qpass's software products, and install Qpass's software in the customer's datacenter. This individual should be comfortable working as an individual contributor or leading a small team, depending upon the nature of the engagement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

? Participate in requirements and design sessions with customer to define solutions to a customer's business problems

? Construct requirements specifications, detailed estimates, and statements of work as needed to define the nature of the engagement

? Translate high-level solution architecture into detailed design artifacts

? Use J2EE technologies (EJBs, JSPs, JMS) to build and extend custom software components

? Clearly and thoroughly document the solution

? Collaborate with customer on testing and acceptance of project deliverables

? Diagnose technical issues and correct software defects

 

QUALIFICATIONS

? 3+ years of experience in the software or technical consulting industry

? Excellent written and spoken communication skills

? Senior-level skill in Java, J2EE, JSP, Linux, UML, Struts, TCP/IP, and SQL

? Experience working with complex, multi-tier web applications

? Experience developing, testing, and tuning J2EE software for high performance and scalability

? Understanding of the software development lifecycle

? Understanding of project management principles and concepts

? Experience troubleshooting complex technical problems

? Experience working with external clients

? Willingness to work part-time at client's location (local travel only)
