Quality Assurance

Performs software tests and produces software test reports.  Communicates, implements, monitors, and/or reviews quality standards and processes cognate to the application development methodologies.  Ensures that evolving software systems meet all departmental and system requirements.  Reviews and/or updates the applicable tracking system with issues identified during the application development life cycle.  Reviews and/or updates the applicable tracking system with issues identified during the application development life cycle.  Evaluates proposed program and specification changes for validity and system integration.  Assists in product design and requirement phases as requested under full life cycle development.  Ensures that all changes to the application code and documentation is accurately and timely updated in the change management system.  Interacts effectively with technical and non-technical client users and managerial personnel.

 

Job function and responsibilities:

 

Writes and maintains test plans based on software requirements and design documentation.  Verifies that system requirements are traceable, consistent, complete, and testable.  Performs requirements, design and code walkthroughs/reviews.  Verifies that software applications perform in accordance with system requirements and specifications for complex on-line, batch, client server, and integrated systems.  Tests software applications for concrete, consistent, observable results.  Performs detailed analysis and debugging tasks in order to accurately identify defects.  Measures the severity of failures and defects in accordance with test plan guidelines.  Tests software fixes and enhancements against revised test requirements.  Accurately and thoroughly documents application performance failures and defects during each quality review session.  Identifies program and specification changes for validity and application integration. 

 

Required Skills: Must demonstrate skills in the following:

? Working knowledge of quality assurance methodology and practices.

? 3+ years experience with software test writing applications including but not limited to QADirector and ClearQuest

? 3+ years work experience test plan and test script development.

? 3+ years of cumulative work experience within all phases of a software development lifecycle.

? 5+ years of team work experience on software development teams.

? 5+ years experience with developing business process models and writing use cases.
