Quality Assurance Engineer (Web Servers, Automation)

Description:

This position plays a key role in Xythos? success by insuring quality of our released products. Responsibilities include creating test cases for our products, black box testing, reporting, tracking and verifying bugs, maintaining communication with other members of the QA team as well as Development and Support teams. Ability to develop automated test cases is also required for this position.

Specific duties include:

? Create and maintain test plans that ensure comprehensive testing according to systems specifications.
? Run existing manual and automated regression tests.
? Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, load and system testing as well as Documentation review.
? Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing.
? Work with other members of the Xythos QA team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency.
? Utilize automated testing software to develop new test scripts
? Design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, including localized and stress test environments.
? Measure system performance on multi-user platforms through automated test scenarios and provide improvement recommendations.

Required Skills:

? Extensive background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software.
? Proficient in developing and implementing test plans and test scripts
? Hands-on experience with computers running Windows, Mac, Linux and Unix operating systems
? Working knowledge of automated testing software
? Strong technical understanding of database design.
? Ability to troubleshoot software / hardware configuration problems
? Demonstrated ability to handle/organize multiple complex technical projects simultaneously.
? Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
? Knowledge of WebDAV protocol a plus

Academic
BA/BS (preferably in engineering/computer science-related field) or equivalent.
