Quality Assurance Functional Tester - Contractor Basis

Summary:

 

This position is on a CONTRACTOR basis with the potential of becoming full-time employment.

 

As a Quality Assurance Functional Tester, you will be part of our Product Development team working on our company?s flagship web application. Your responsibilities will include development of test plans for product releases and functionality testing using different methodologies. You will consult with development and project leaders on functionality and implementation details. Your ability to apply automation to testing processes will be a key differentiator in our mutual success.

 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities: 

 

? Participate as member of product development project team.

? Develop and document appropriate project test strategy with Project Leader.

? Create and document project Test Plan and Case document for each project from Project Requirements, Specification, and Design documents.

? Provide work estimates for document generation and test cycles to Project Manager.

? Execute test plan during QA phase.

? Manage issue resolution process using Issue Tracking Software.

? Coordinate build schedules with Project Leader to maintain efficient implementation and QA cycles.

? Provide statistics to project team regarding issue resolution performance.

? Merge Test Cases into QA Test Library at project completion.

? Update application regression testing plan based on updates to QA Test Library.

? Work with product experts, customers and suppliers to understand usage patterns to ensure software testing matches end-user usage patterns.

? Monitor production system error notifications. Identifies patterns of issues. Drive issue resolution.

? Maintain basic load testing automation scripts using Mercury Load Runner.

? Perform load and stress tests when appropriate for projects as part of QA cycle.

 

Qualifications:

 

? Relevant technical certification(s)

? Software functionality testing using manual and automated techniques.

? Software Test Plan design.

? Hands on experience with Mercury Load Runner.

? Technical writing.

? Familiar with Object-Oriented development methodologies and CM support of such.

? Proficient with Object-oriented languages structures and processing models (preferably Java).

? RDBMS Proficiency.

? Proficiency with Unix and shell scripting.

? Software testing tools and methods.

? SQL Scripting.

 

Education / Experience:

 

? 4 year college degree in related field.

? 2 + years experience with manual & automated testing of internet browser based e-commerce applications.

? Proficiency with the software product development lifecycle.

? Proven communication, organizational, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills.
