Quality Assurance Lead Engineer

Health Market Science is a young, rapidly-expanding company located in King of Prussia, PA.  HMS is the leading provider of scientifically-engineered targeting, data integration, and advanced analytics solutions for the healthcare industry.

Position:

As a member of the Quality Assurance Team, the Software QA Engineer position is responsible to lead Software QA efforts on assigned projects through complete detailed test planning documents, develop and document test cases and execute the same in order to ensure high quality in software releases.

 

Position Reports to: Project Manager

 

Responsibilities

?  Manage, lead and mentor a team of QA Analysts assigned to a specific product area

?  Promote the SDLC process within the team

?  Manage project relationship and status with outsource PM and testing staff

?  Lead test strategy sessions and the test phases of assigned projects including UAT phases

?  Work with Project Manager and Business Analyst to develop the Test Plan for each project

?  Work with Project Manage, Development teams, end users and other departments to understand assignments and coordinate testing activities

?  Provide estimates of time and resources for each assignment

?  Lead the development of test cases (manual and automated)

?  Lead the test automation process

?  Execute test cases as required, review results and log defects

?  Validate fixes as necessary

?  Schedule quality assessments and reviews as neede

?  Maintain and report status on each build/iteration

?  Work with Project Manager to determine release readiness

 

Required Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Science or related field or equivalent work experience with a proven track record of successMore than 6 years of Software QA experienceProven knowledge of software development methodologies and software QA strategyPrevious leadership experience of a QA team of 2 or more people for at least 1 yearKnowledge of the SDLC and the role that QA plays in the lifecycle Demonstrated work experience and proficiency with QA support tools such as Rational or MercuryDemonstrated ability to develop Test PlansDemonstrated proficiency in automated testingStrong knowledge of Oracle is preferredStrong knowledge of MS Office products including Visio, Project and Outlook is requiredStrong problem solving and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlinesStrong interpersonal communication skills and solid oral and written skills are requiredStrong proven managerial skillsDetail oriented
