Quality Assurance Manager: Role in BriefDevelop and implement QA processes for an iterative software development processDefine, implement, and maintain an integrated testing infrastructure. Define requirements and evaluate and implement the tools needed to support the integrated testing function.Define architecture requirements for the integrated testing environmentDevelop strategies of test coverage includingFunctional TestingRegression TestingLoad/Performance TestingAssess key points of risk and create plan for developing coverageParticipate in the software design and specification phase to create testing strategies during the development stage. Work with the business, analysis, and development teams to drive, coordinate and perform all levels of testing (functional, performance, acceptance, load, etc) in each phase of the methodology.Ensure the highest level of continuous testing improvements through process analysis and automation and establishing quality standardsImplement and maintain a defect tracking systemDefine policies, definitions, processes and procedures for using defect tracking systemDevelop, implement and maintain automated test infrastructureDevelop the structure and repository for test suites and test scriptsOversee the development of test scriptsBuild repositories of test data sufficient to validate all branches of codeDevelop list of certified platforms and supported platforms Evaluate and develop requirements for testing platforms including hardware and softwareWork with support department to identify and track customer report defectsTriage bug escalations from customer support, and working closely with them to resolve issues.Develop and enhance knowledge base of known issues along with support departmentDetermine reproducibility of customer complaints to determine validity of BugsOther duties as assigned

 

Skills, competencies and qualificationsIn-depth knowledge of testing methodologies (black box, white box, regression, load testing, user acceptance testing), QA testing tools. Need to be willing to do hands-on testing.Excellent oral and written communication skills (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and MS Project)Detail oriented, strong analytical skills and resourceful in issue resolutionExceptional people and project management skills

 

ExperienceBS Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Min. of 6 yrs of professional experience in high-tech software development of commercial web based software products. 3 years project lead experienceExperience managing a QA team including building of project plansFamiliarity with Web-Applications and/or 3-tier software concepts. Experience using SQL Server databases. Knowledge of general programming techniques.Experience with both manual and automated testing methodologies.Experience with rapid development methodologies (agile, XP, scrum, etc)

 

Desired characteristicsHighly motivated, flexible, self starter who can work with minimal leadership and guidance.Ability to work under pressure, tolerate ambiguity and triage areas for process improvement.
