Regional Industry Marketing Director

Responsible for ensuring sales readiness and maintaining a leadership position for AspenTech in market perception. This role is an individual contributor with solid industry knowledge in one or more industries and is responsible for leading a resource leveraged organization.

The Regional Industry Marketing position has three primary responsibilities. In order of importance:

1. Regional vertical market and business development
a. Assist the sales and services teams in the region with the long term development of new business "" establishing AspenTech"&tm;s industry thought leadership directly with key accounts, appropriate account calls at request of sales teams, assisting with complex account planning, assisting in the development of complex proposals, etc. Assist when appropriate in closing business.
b. Establish the perception of AspenTech in the region as an industry leader in terms of vertical segment domain expertise and solution capability and become known as the de facto industry expert in the region internal to AspenTech and external to the market (customers, partners, analysts, associations, etc.).
c. Keep an eye on and initiate appropriate channel opportunities in the region and funnel these into the channels group.

2. Sales enablement and marketing execution
a. Conduct formal and informal industry and solution training for the regional sales and services teams.
b. Ensure that the corporate product and solution roadmaps including delivery timeframes are accurately communicated to the regional sales and services teams.
c. Ensure sales tools, messaging, collateral, etc. from the corporate and product marketing teams are tuned appropriately for the region.
d. Assist with the execution of various marketing programs and campaigns in the region. Identify opportunities for those programs in the region.

3. Product/solution/partner/competitor/market feedback
a. Directly feed back to the corporate product management and marketing teams information that helps direct product/solution roadmaps "" key deal win/loss reports, competitive information, developing market dynamics, new solution ideas, etc.

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have some combination of experiences and accomplishments listed below.

* 10+ years in enterprise software industry with a number of those directly related to industry sub-vertical

* 5+ years as an employee of an end-user customer within the sub-vertical

* Knowledge of appropriate AspenTech or like products and solutions and their value delivery

* Previous experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, and/or Sales with a track record of developing key product or channel related relationships

* Proven track record of developing, launching and growing software product/solution businesses

* Proven track record of leading multiple functional groups to a common goal

* Well-developed network of appropriate industry contacts

* Self-directed, highly motivated, and detail oriented

* Highly articulate and clear in both speaking and writing with excellent analytical and presentation skills
