Release Manager

 

- Plan, manage and implement release activities for multiple engineering teams to ensure a smooth rollout from development thru production
- Responsible for the build, release and configuration of software, and assist in identifying and resolving conflicts between releases
- Create and maintain automated and scalable build scripts/tools that ensure repeatable deployment of releases into multiple environments
- Ensure that builds are properly documented and identify changes since last build through Release Notes
- Coordinate builds of a release with Quality Assurance, and provide support to Engineering and Quality Assurance
- Create and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for release managementExperience - External:- A BS or MS in Computer Science or related experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a release management capacity in a complex environment
- Extensive experience establishing and maintaining build environments, and thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and test processes
- Experience with Subversion, CVS, ANT, Maven, Java, Perl
- Project management skills to move software through the qualification and release process
- Ability to prepare tasks estimates and to provide input to project(s) master schedule
- Excellent leadership, problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
