Position Summary

Autodesk - the developer of Autocad and 3D Studio - is looking for a talented SAP Technical Lead to further extend our world class information technology environment. This position is part of the Enterprise Application Development Team in IT. This group provides business application analysis, development and support to the worldwide business organization.

This is an individual contributor role and requires the ability to concisely evaluate the business requirements of the globally dispersed, end-user organizations and recommend and/or participate in the study of appropriate business solutions. This role involves active participation with regards to analysis, design, documentation, performance studies, and implementation of business applications and other mission critical systems as deemed necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of architecting complex solutions in the SAP Enterprise space. The candidate needs to be prepared to deliver in a fast paced development environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Provide leadership in SAP technical evaluations and solution design Evaluate emerging technologies and their relevance to Autodesk SAP landscape. Define product architecture and design. Ability to architect complex solutions. Ability to document and present complex solutions to senior management within development and business community. Provide technical guidance and support to EA organization Participate in needs analysis, design reviews and provide detailed design specifications based on requirements gathered through the business requirements and solution design phases Work with development and the business in the support of new project initiatives Focus on large initiatives/projects that support long-term business operation strategies


Requirements: Detailed knowledge of SAP technical solutions and how companies are leveraging the technology to solve complex business requirements. BA/BS degree, MBA/MS degree preferred or equivalent Demonstrate a proven track record in building enterprise-class software products and solutions. 7+ years of software engineering experience Ability to articulate change implications for any process or system solution to any level in the business organization (from user to senior management) Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Has performed in a lead role before, leading peers/consultants Ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced environment Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills Maturity and ability to work independently in a dynamic project environment with aggressive deadlines

Desired Knowledge/Skills: Previous experience successfully delivering SAP Technical projects Strong understanding of the SAP Technical arena (solutions, suppliers, customer demands) Strong SAP technical skills (Basis, ABAP, Workflow, Portal, BW) Previous experience successfully delivering SAP Technical projects Experience delivering EDI and EAI solutions Exposure to new dimension products like WebAS, EP, Netweaver, XI, BW. Experience with the following SAP modules is highly desirable; HR, CRM, BW, CM and FI applications Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and process improvement and will follow disciplined software development practices. Completed at least two full life cycle implementations of SAP Experience with SAP configuration/development; ability to perform technical solution design 3+ years of JAVA experience desired
