SAP BW Business Systems Manager

The ideal candidate will understand the importance of leveraging technology to solve Regional business reporting requirements.  Your business process expertise coupled with strong communication skills will be necessary to facilitate and interact with management, users and technical teams.  This position involves assessing detailed business requirements for operational, analytic and executive reporting to design, develop and support Business Intelligence solutions leveraging SAP R/3 and Business Warehouse.  This individual will design architecture and develop foundation for Regional reporting solution, including implementation plan and will be expected to manage project execution through go live. This individual must collaborate with Global IT competence center to promote consistency between the standardization, definition and usage of reporting and Business Intelligence information in accordance with the established Governance.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Design Regional Business Intelligence Solution leveraging SAP-BW and develop multi-year implementation plan.  

Reporting focus includes but not limited to sales analysis, retail sell through, gross margin analysis, royalties, customer profitability and cagetory reporting.

Manage full cycle projects according to implementation plan to achieve business results.

Define system strategies and architecture; analyze system requirements; designs and prototypes, tests, trains and implement practical technical solutions in a timely manner as dictated by departmental / organizational deadlines.

Utilize a business approach to reporting, with investment in user satisfaction through well-designed user interface

Consider performance implications of a design option and propose optimal solutions to reporting needs

Lead system development and support activities to meet needs in a timely and cost effective manner while ensuring that these activities are in compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Lead and track the progress of multiple development projects. Project administration includes, but is not limited to: work plans, resource planning and control, status reports, and preparation of annual budget.

Communicate project status, including roadblocks with suggested solutions, to management in a timeline manner.

Provide technical leadership and direction for developers working on the design, creation and maintenance of structures.

Job Requirements:
Requirements for the position include:
 Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field
 Significant experience and advanced skills in building custom BW 3.5 structures and reports (minimum 5 years development experience with BW).  BW certification desired.
 A broad knowledge of SAP terminology
 Thorough knowledge of the SAP R/3 cross module source system data and the limitations of the reporting tool
 Experience with key performance indicators, cockpits, and performance metrics.
 Experience with Sales and Finance business areas and reporting requirements.
 Analytical and assessment skills essential.  Detailed oriented.
 Intermediate to advanced coding skills in ABAP (ABAP programs, data dictionary objects, infosets, transports etc.)
 Experience building custom extractors in R/3
 Proficiency in database design, data administration/modeling, acquisition, analysis and design, data base optimization, archive and recovery strategies, security, and change management.
 Good data modeling knowledge
 Expert knowledge regarding backend configuration and front end configuration (Bex and Web).  Crystal Reporting experience a plus.
 Proven ability to independently supervise and lead team of developers (min 2 years project lead experience).
 Proven verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
 Cmmitment to provide a high level of customer service to internal clients.
 Project management experience.  Familiarity with Project Development Lifecycle methodology a must.
 Strong PC skills, proficiency with Microsoft XP, Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
 Travel required, predominantly US.
